Start with the requirement, not the provider
Before comparing providers, define what the learner or company actually needs. Is the goal a statutory certificate, a company competence requirement, specialist knowledge, professional development or preparation for a future role?
Check recognition and scope
Terms such as approval, recognition, accreditation and certification should not be treated as interchangeable. Ask who recognizes the programme, what exactly is recognized and whether the recognition applies to the course, provider, certificate or a specific national process.
Review the learning design
Look beyond the course title. Compare learning outcomes, syllabus depth, assessment method, practical elements, instructor access and learner support.
Ask about evidence
Find out what record is issued after completion, who issues it and how authenticity can be verified. Where a certificate is used for regulatory purposes, confirm the applicable authority's requirements independently.
Compare total value
Price should be considered alongside schedule, delivery quality, assessment, documentation, support and whether the programme actually satisfies the intended requirement.
